Brilliant News!
This year is going so fast. In March I was awarded a DYCP grant from Arts Council England. Absolutely amazing news. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given this grant out of a huge number of applicants. To make the best use of this opportunity I quit my job at Grapevine Coventry and Warwickshire, where I've been working for 7 years. It was a tough decision and I'll really miss Grapevine, but the timing feels right.
So I'm spending a year as a writer and artist, putting myself forward for as many opportunities as I can. I applied for a Hatching Residency with Talking Birds Theatre Company and I was successful! I get to spend the first two weeks of May at the Nest creating ideas and inspiration for new theatre works with members of the public who don't much like theatre. It will be a really fun project. Please visit Talking Birds website (www.talkingbirds.co.uk) for my blog about the process. Also, I'll be running an Art Hub exploration at the Nest on Friday 6th May between 10am and 4pm. Please join us to learn more about Talking Birds work, have some fun creating and chat to me about how the residency is going.
In addition to all of this I have three paintings in the Portrait exhibition at the Litten Tree Buildings gallery. The exhibition is well worth seeing and will be open until May 16th. Don't worry, I won't be there looking like the joker when you visit!
